This was not the first birthday bash Bourn Golf Club have catered for us.
As a preview they did a twenty first for my son some 23 years ago when the landscaped verdant woodland was a thinly transplanted vista.
That was a good do with perfect weather and so a return trip to mark my turning 70 seemed a reasonable plan.
Dan and his team did us proud and the chef sorted out the boxes of fruit freshly harvested from Mr Hackers Fruit farm into a very palatable fruit salad with lashings of cream. The surplus slightly underripe black currants and gooseberries which I optimistically picked the day before are destined for the jam making vat.
The Hog-roast with all the usual trimmings seemed to power up the guests for energetic dancing as the evening progressed.
